Forlan believes De Gea will join United

Atletico Madrid hitman Diego Forlan seems convinced team-mate David De Gea will join Manchester United this summer.

Forlan's belief in the impending transfer comes despite regular claims by De Gea that he is yet to make a decision on his future, and will only do so once he returns from playing in the European U-21 Championship with Spain.
However, many still believe a deal between Atletico and United have already been struck for a fee in the region of €21million, and finalising a deal for the highly-rated goalkeeper is a mere formality.
Forlan has tipped De Gea to establish himself as one of the best shot-stoppers in the world, but has warned not to let expectations get too high.
"David will become a top player because he has a lot of ability," Forlan said to BBC Sport.
"But he's only just had his first full season as Atletico's number one and is a young guy with little experience."
Forlan himself was presented the opportunity to move overseas at a young age when he joined United as a 22-year-old, but believes not every player can easily adapt to new surroundings.
"You never know for sure whether a player will adapt to a new country until he gets there.
"It's true that I was also young when I joined United, just 22, but you can't compare our situations.
"I knew the language and had already left my country, having moved to Independiente [in Argentina] when I was only 19. So it was not such a big step for me to go to United.
While Forlan feels De Gea would face difficulties if he moved to Manchester, he believes having his family around will help.
"David is from a little town outside Madrid and has been at Atletico since he was very young.
"He doesn't speak any languages other than Spanish.
"He is going over with his girlfriend and family though, which will help."
Forlan spent three season at United, and while he never truly set Old Trafford alight, he is fondly remembered by the fans for the brace he scored in a 2-1 away victory over fierce rivals Liverpool.
