United close in on £35m Sneijder

Reports emanating from England suggest that Inter Milan ace Wesley Sneijder is close to completing a £35million move to Manchester United.

Following the retirement of playmaker Paul Scholes, United have made no secret of their desire to land the Dutch midfielder all summer, and Sneijder himself has remained cryptic over his future.
However, a source close to the 27-year-old reveals that a move to Old Trafford could be completed as soon as this week.
"Everyone expects Wesley's move to United to be announced soon, maybe as early as Wednesday," The Sun quoted an unnamed team-mate."
"He has even spoken to Dutch international team-mate Nigel De Jong [of Manchester City] to find out where are the best places to live in Manchester."
The source also believes that both Inter and Sneijder know the deal would actually be mutually beneficial, but are refusing to outrightly declare so.
"It all looks imminent, no matter what Inter or Wesley may say in public. It seems Inter want to sell but don't want to admit it, while Wesley wants to go but doesn't want to say it.
"It's a good move for him and good business of Inter."
Sneijder had a stellar campaign in his first season with Inter, claiming the Serie A, Coppa Italia and UEFA Champions League titles.
However, injuries restricted him to just 25 appearances last term and his absence was sorely felt, as Inter were pipped to the Scudetto crown by arch-rivals AC Milan.
